It has been one month since my dear friend Darlene passed away from ovarian cancer. I don't have the right words to describe the sadness we feel. I don't have the words to describe how special she was.

Ovarian cancer has few symptoms and therefore often goes undiagnosed. Darlene's only symptom initially was bloating, so very easy to ignore!

Ovarian cancer affects thousands of Canadian women every year and ovarian cancer research is grossly underfunded compared to many other cancers.

This fundraiser is special to me because it honours all of the women and families touched by ovarian cancer, but especially Darlene, Barry, Rachel, Laura, Carolyn and Eric.

Every dollar I raise supports Ovarian Cancer Canada, the Canadian charity championing the health and wellbeing of women with ovarian cancer and those at risk for the disease, while advancing research to save lives. Funds will help further scientific progress, advocacy efforts and support programs.
