The Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope is the largest and most powerful event of its kind in the country. Walk your way and Walk for her. 

Please register for the Walk location closest to you, or the one you have attended in the past, to ensure you receive the most relevant and important updates about this virtual event. If none apply, choose 'DIY'.

On Walk Day, the volunteer planning committee in Ottawa/Gatineau has exciting surprises just for you! This includes words from community members, researchers and Teal Sisters, a zumba warm up, musical performances, exclusive contests and more! Visit the Facebook Event Page for the details.

Ottawa/Gatineau Walk Day Schedule:

9 a.m. – Head to the Facebook Event Page and tune into the warm-up and Walk day kick-off! Videos will be shared featuring your Ovarian Cancer Canada Regional Director, committee members, Teal Sisters, and others.

9:10 a.m. – Welcome remarks from Mayor Jim Watson

9:20 a.m. – Welcome remarks from Diane Deans, City of Ottawa Councillor

9:40 a.m. – Hear from Dr. Barbara Vanderhyden about the importance of research

9:50 a.m. – Get moving and warm up with a Zumba workout

10:00 a.m. – Mayor Jim Watson kicks off the Walk

10:00 AM – Lace up, don your teal with pride, and walk your route. When you’re on route, take pictures and share them on social

10:10 AM – Musical performances and entertainment

11:15 AM – Post-Walk cool down with Yoga and breathing exercises

3 p.m. – Tune in for the closing ceremonies on Facebook Live! These closing ceremonies will feature some familiar Walk favourites and some new additions – you'll have front row seats to exclusive musical performances, speeches, awards** and more.
