Ride For Ovarian Cancer 2024
After losing my own strong and beautiful mom to ovarian cancer when I was 17 years old, it has made me very disheartened to learn that ovarian cancer is still such a terminal form of cancer for women today. Today, thousands of Canadian women are living with ovarian cancer and 5 Canadian women are lost to this disease every day. Each of these women is an integral part of a family and of our society. There is still no reliable screening for ovarian cancer and survival rates remain very low and have not improved in 50 years!
Our 2nd annual Ride For Ovarian Cancer will take place on Saturday April 6th 2024. With some great pals by my side, I will ride my mountain bike for 50km and 1800m of climbing on Squamish single and double track to raise awareness and funds for Ovarian Cancer Canada. I have shared a link to the route below, it should make for a good long ride so early in the season!
My goal is to raise $5000 this year. Anyone that donates $50 or more will be entered into a draw to win a Chromag component kit, worth over $450. Thank you Chromag for your support!
Ovarian Cancer Canada is the only registered Canadian charity solely dedicated to eradicating ovarian cancer and preventing it from the future. OCC stands hand-in-hand with the people experiencing, affected by, or at risk and will not rest until women are able to live their lives freely, fully, and uninhibited by ovarian cancer. Funds will help support vital research that is improving outcomes, power advocacy efforts that influence system changes and improves the quality of life for those living with and at high risk, and provides expert information and education to empower individuals with knowledge that can transform lives.
Please consider donating to my fundraising efforts: for our MOTHERS, SISTERS, DAUGHTERS, WIVES, GIRLFRIENDS, FEMALE FRIENDS.
Thank you for your generous support.
