When is the Walk?

  • In most locations, the Walk takes place on Sunday, September 10, 2017
  • Walks in Ajax, Yartmouth and Charlottetown will take place on September 9th, 2017
  • The walk in Ottawa will take place on September 2, 2017

Where is the Walk?

How do I register a Team or as an Individual for the Walk?

  1. From the homepage, click “Start a New Team” (Note: as an individual you are considered your own team)
  2. Select the Province where you want to walk
  3. Select the City where you want to walk
  4. Click “Register to this Location”
  5. Fill in the requested information. Remember to click “Next Step” to move to the next page or “Previous Step” to go back to the last page you visited.

If you are unable to attend the Walk but still want to fundraise, you may join as a Virtual Walker.

How do I bring back my team from a previous year?

  1. From the homepage, click “Join a Team”
  2. Select the Province where you want to walk
  3. Select the City where you want to walk
  4. Click “Register to this Location”
  5. Sign in as a Returning User
  6. Search for the name of your past team and click "Bring them Back" (Note: any past team member can bring back the team)
  7. Remember to click “Next Step” to move to the next page or “Previous Step” to go back to the last page you visited.

How do I Join a Team for the Walk?

  1. From the homepage, click “Join a Team”
  2. Select the Province you want to walk
  3. Select the City you want to walk and click “Register to this Location”
  4. Type in the name of the team you wish to join and click “Search for a Team”
  5. Click on “Join Team”
  6. Fill in the requested information. Remember to click “Next Step” to move to the next page or “Previous Step” to go back to the last page you visited.

Is there a registration fee?

There is a $25 registration fee in place for participants 18 years and older. * This amount cannot be refunded and is not eligible for a tax receipt. Registration fees help cover the costs of organizing your local Walk, ensuring as much money as possible is directed to overcoming ovarian cancer.

Note: survivors and those under 18 years old are not required to pay a registration fee.

What if I forgot my username or password?

You can retrieve your username or password by following these steps:

  1. Go to the Sign in Page
  2. Click “Forgot User Name” or “Forgot Password”
  3. Enter the email address that you registered with Your Username or Password will be emailed to you within minutes. These messages occasionally end up in spam or junk mail folders, so please be sure to check.

What is the Participant Centre?

The Participant Centre is where you can do several things:

  • Update your personal information
  • Customize your personal fundraising and team pages
  • Import email contacts and send fundraising, recruitment and thank you emails
  • Set your personal and team fundraising goals and track and manage your progress
  • Promote your fundraising on social media
  • Add offline donations to your online fundraising total

How do I import my email contacts to my Participant Centre?

  1. Sign in to your Participant Centre and go to the “Email” tab
  2. Click “Contacts”
  3. Click “Import Contacts”
  4. Select your email provider and click “Next”
  5. Follow the steps

How do I send a fundraising email from my Participant Centre?

  1. Sign in to your Participant Centre and choose the “Email” tab
  2. Select “Other,” then “Create your own”
  3. Enter your subject line in the “Subject” field
  4. Write your note/letter
  5. Select “Next” and upload contacts, enter email addresses manually or select already existing contacts
  6. Select “Next” and then select “Send”
  7. Save your message as a template to use it again later
  8. If you’d prefer to use a pre-written email:

    1. Choose the type of email you wish to send, then select “Next”
    2. Customize the subject and body text as you wish
    3. Select “Next” and upload contacts, enter email addresses manually or select already existing contacts
    4. Select “Next” and then “Send”
    5. Save your message as a template to use it again later

How do I change the photo on my Personal Page?

  1. Sign in to your Participant Centre
  2. From the Personal Page tab, click “Photos/Videos”
  3. Select “Choose File”
  4. Add a photo or video from your computer, then press “Open.” Please note that only one photo/video can be uploaded at a time.
  5. Write a caption (if desired)
  6. Click “Save”

How do I fundraise online?

  • Once you have registered, sign in to your Participant Centre. From there, you can import contacts and begin sending emails to your contacts.

How do I update my fundraising goal?

  • Sign in to your Participant Centre and go to the “Progress” tab
  • Click the “Change” button located just below your current goal
  • Enter your new goal and click “Submit”

What should I do with the cash and cheques I collect?

  • You can submit cash or cheque donations along with your completed pledge form on-site on Walk day. Electronic tax receipts cannot be issued for cash or cheque donations received on the day of the Walk. These receipts will be issued and mailed (donation $20+) once donations are processed by Ovarian Cancer Canada.

How do people donate?

  • Online at ovariancancerwalkofhope.ca
  • By cash or cheque. For receipting purposes, please ensure to record these donations on a pledge form.
  • Toll free by calling Ovarian Cancer Canada at 1-877-413-7970 x225
  • By mailing a cheque to Ovarian Cancer Canada at 205-145 Front St. East., Toronto, ON M5A 1E3

Do donors receive tax receipts?

  • Ovarian Cancer Canada provides charitable tax receipts for donations of $20 or more. Online donors will receive electronic tax receipts as soon as the donation is processed. Please ensure to check your spam or junk folders. Those wishing to donate by cash or cheque will receive hardcopy receipts by mail by December 31, 2017. Why wasn’t my credit card accepted?

  • Please ensure the credit card number, expiry date and cardholder name entered appear exactly as they do on the card. We do not accept Visa Debit.

How do I get a hat?

  • All Walk registrants will receive a hat on Walk day.

How do I get a survivor t-shirt?

  • Anyone who indicated they were a survivor at the time of registration will receive a survivor t-shirt on the day of the Walk.

Is the Walk accessible for wheelchairs, scooters and strollers?

  • Every effort is made to ensure that Walk locations are as accessible as possible. However, conditions may vary by location. Please visit your local Walk page for details.

Can I bring my dog to the Walk?

  • We do our best to welcome your furry friends at the Walk, however conditions vary by location. Please visit your local Walk page for details.
