Yoga for Ovarian Cancer Research 2020
Today, thousands of Canadian women are living with ovarian cancer and another 2,800 will be diagnosed this year.
Here is Jeanne Mudie's personal experience with ovarian cancer, in her own words:
"In July 2018, I had surgery on an ovarian cyst. One month later, at the end of my recovery from the surgery, I received my diagnosis of ovarian cancer. I went into survival mode to push forward and do what was needed to get better. I was so lucky to have had early detection, we had the opportunity to handle it through a radical hysterectomy 4 months later. Fear and uncertainty follow with each check up... I am now 2 years cancer free. I was truly blessed to have discovered this when I did, many don't have the same luxury. Knowing that I was sick before the illness took hold gave me the upper hand. We need more research on ovarian cancer, we must never give up."
To honour women and families touched by ovarian cancer and celebrate the hope that she carries with her every day – the hope for a future without this disease, Jeanne is organizing this fundraising event, both in person and virtually.
The in studio session will respect social distancing measures and Quebec public safety guidelines. Please wear your mask to enter the studio. Our maximum capacity with social distancing measures is 20 people. Reserve your place by contacting: firstname.lastname@example.org
